Call for Abstracts

Call for Abstracts - Scientists, engineers, and students are invited to submit 150-word abstracts for oral presentations at the 49th Annual Technical Meeting of Society of Engineering Sciences.

Presentations are being considered in these general program areas:

  • Mechanics of Biological Systems
  • Multifunctional Materials and Multi-physics Problems
  • Multiscale Mechanics of Materials
  • Fluids, Thermal and Energy
  • Mechanics of Structures
  • Infrastructure and Infrastructure Materials
  • Materials Design

Scientists, engineers, and students are invited to propose presentations that help the diverse audience expand cooperation, understanding, and promotion of their cutting-edge research efforts in these multi-disciplinary fields. New research, new developments, and novel concepts serve as the focus for this meeting.

Oral presentations will be selected from abstracts received. Notification of acceptance will be provided by June 15, 2012. Authors will then be asked to submit a two-page extended abstract for inclusion in the book of abstracts that will be permanently web accessible using search engines such as Google.

Student Presentation Competition

There will be student presentation competitions at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Students will be selected based on their regular abstract and on a recommendation letter from their research advisor(s), which should be uploaded as a supplementary file during the abstract submission. Students selected to participate in the competition will receive a travel grant (max. $600.)
